About Nini

Nini Nguyen is a fashion stylist, consultant and the voice behind NiniStyle.net.  Nini’s specialty is understanding the lifestyle and needs of clients and using this to create a fashionable wardrobe that is chic and showcases each client’s individuality.  Her focus is often on reworking the closet of each client to keep and add to the pieces that enhance a woman’s figure and she works to select pieces that highlight the client’s best features. She believes that a woman will have the most confidence when their outfit makes them feel both natural and tough with a touch of elegance.

With over sixteen years of experience in the dynamic fashion industry, Nini started out at Banana Republic and Neiman Marcus, eventually advancing to Oscar de la Renta and Barneys New York as a fashion consultant. With a background in fashion and an avid enthusiasm for art, finding her own sense of style was second nature to Nini. She recalls, “At an early age when I had a party to attend, I couldn’t afford things that appealed to me. So I just used what I had in my closet. I would cut, re-construct and drape items into something more interesting. I remember showing up at an event wearing bright orange polka dot pants, a cut out white jersey tunic and over-sized bright orange clutch that was a gift with purchase with a bottle of Christian Dior perfume. My hair was all big and teased up like a bird’s nest. And everybody was staring. That was a priceless moment.”

“It’s not what you wear but how you wear it” is at the core of Nini’s personal beliefs because her personal history was so fraught with uncertainty: born in Vietnam, she and her family were stuck in a refugee camp for 8 years in Thailand. The family lived in dire conditions: with no education, lack of proper nutrition, she had two outfits and no shoes. She and her family came to Dallas in 1999. When she looks back over the years she feels so grateful to be where she is today: “I love my small circle of women that I’m dressing. They are the most kind, generous women with beautiful souls and hearts. They are smart and very sophisticated. I’m blessed each day to be living here in the U.S and to have this amazing opportunity dressing Dallas’s most fashionable women and women around the globe.”

Nini’s love and passion are undeniably exuded through her natural talent to envision how clothes should lay on a woman’s body to create the most flattering and edgy looks. She is Vanity Fair’s first ever first winner for the international Best Dressed contest in 2013 and D Magazine named her one of the top 10 most stylish people in Dallas. Some of her favorite designers are Delpozo, Rosie Assoulin, Azzedine Alaia, Esteban Cortazar, Haider Ackermann, Loewe, Celine and The Row. She also loves shopping for her clients at Rag & Bone for basic jeans and tops, as well as Zara and ASOS for fun pieces that do not break the bank.

Her philosophy is that anyone can look like a million without spending a million. Nini believes in buying less but investing in quality pieces that will last for years. She believes that beautiful, well made items can enhance a wardrobe from season to season: they are timeless.  She loves mixing high-end designer items with lower-end and fun seasonal trends with collectible vintage finds.
